About this product

How serious are you about BBQ? Forget "kiss the cook." We live by a different mantra: carpe grillem. The first use of this phrase can be traced back to the poet Horace, who wrote the following in Ode 1.11 (translated here into English from Latin):

Don't ask, for it is forbidden to know what end
The gods have granted to me or you,
While we speak, envious time will have fled,
So fire up the frickin' grill, goddammit. Life is short!

Words to live by, for sure. What's perhaps most amazing is that Horace was able to foresee the advent of pork tenderloin and matchlight charcoal as early as 59 BC.

Carpe grillem, lads! Carpe grillem.

Over 10 years and millions of t-shirts later, we still have the same mission: to create fun, premium apparel that leaves an impression.
