Things may seem bad right now. Maybe even hopeless. Still, call me an optimist, but I think we're doomed.
Now, I can already hear the naysayers: "But the ice caps are melting! Democracy is dying! Crime waves! Civil war! Horse paste! JOE ROGAN!!”
No arguments here. Those are all awful things. Even so, I just have this hunch that everything is going to end up not-at-all OK. I guess I'm just a "glass is half full of poisonous liquid" kind of person. A dreamer of a whole-lot-worse tomorrow.
Of course, I'm not naive. I'm not saying we'll all be living in some "utopian hell." I just know that when human beings put their minds to it, there's nothing we can't utterly destroy.
